LaJean Warren

I would like to introduce myself to my new family of friends.  My name is LaJean Warren, and I currently live in Dripping Springs.  I have been married for 32 years to my husband Reggie and have identical twin boys, Zachary and Nicholas who are 28 years old.

My college education began at Lamar University where I received my BS in Education.  Susequently, I received my MS in Educational Management from the University of Houston CLC.  I have taught school for 36 years and have recently retired from public education.  I have taught Early Childhood, Kindergarten, Special Education, Middle School, and Private Kindergarten during that time.

I currently hold Texas Teaching Certificates in the following areas:

  • Kindergarten (Grades PK-KG)
  • Early Childhood Education-Handicapped (Grades PK-6)
  • English as a Second Language (Grades PK-12)
  • Elementary Self - Contained (Grades 1-8)
  • Deaf/Hard of Hearing (Grades PK - 12)
  • MS/Educatoinal Management
  • During my teaching career I learned many fabulous things from my students.  It is their enthusiasm for exploration and their energy that makes my vocation as a teacher so rewarding.  Caring for children means setting high expectations and doing everything I can to ensure each child's success. My goal is to make learning fun, interesting, and exciting.  Additionally, I believe in "hands-on" activities so that each child can make a personal connection to their learning.

I look forward to working with parents, students and the staff at Child's Way.

    Arcelia Gibbs

My name is Arcelia Gibbs (nickname Arce).  I lived in Houston for 24 years and moved to Austin 16 years ago.  I have been married for 38 years and have 2 grown children.  I have five grandchildren and one on the way.  Two of my grandchildren have graduated from Child's Way. I am excited to be co-teaching the Pre-K class this year!

I previously worked at Child's Way for 7 years.  Last year, I went to work for Walnut Spring Elementary in Dripping Springs as an Instructional Aide (TA).  However, my heart was always at Child's Way and this year I made the decision to come back to Child's Way.

I am delighted to be back again, where I feel children are always loved and nurtured.
Previously, I worked in the electronics industry for 26 years as a manger.  Previous to that, I also worked in the medical field as a nurse's assistant.  My hobbies include hiking, reading, visiting art galleries, and museums.  My favorite colors are aqua blue, and earth colors.

In 2009, I received my Para-Educator Institute certificate under the 'No Child Left Behind' (NCLB) act of 2002, which qualifies me to be a teacher's assistant, instructional aide, and/or para-professional in the public school system.  I have attended numerous child development classes by ATI (Applebaum Training Institute), Child Care Lounge.com and "Time to Sign" (American Sign Language) and several other seminars.  As all teachers here, I am certified in CPR and First Aid.

I love children and am always surprised at how willing and eager they are to learn new things.  Their minds are so fresh and open at this age.  So I hope this will be a learning experience that they will not forget.  I will love and nurture your children as they grow so much during their Pre-K year.
