ChildsWay Learning Center

Hi, I am Doreen Pairsh and am very excited to join the staff here at Child’s Way! I received my Child Development degree from Southwest Texas University (Texas State) in 1997. I have worked many jobs which included: Infant/Toddler teacher, a nanny for several wonderful families, Children’s Ski school and babysitting at the Ski resorts in Colorado. Recently, I have been a proud stay at home mommy and office/accounts manager for my husband’s environmental consulting company.

My husband and I have been married for 8 years; we have a daughter named Oleda (Ole) who is 3. This is her first year at Child’s Way and she loves it! We have a goofy yellow lab named Remy, and we love the outdoors. My interests include running, yoga, reading and music. I’m not very crafty, but love to crochet or needle point during the cold winter months.

Ms. Gina Carter

My name is Gina Galindo Carter and I am excited to be working full-time at Child’s Way. Although this is my first lead teacher position, Child’s Way has been a part of my life since it opened in 1995. My mother, Rebecca (co-owner/director), opened her school one month before my wedding! Through the years, I have served as a substitute teacher, a teacher’s assistant, interim director, and curriculum director for the young side. I have also seen both of our children attend school and graduate from the pre-k class. I look forward to an exciting year with my co-teacher, Ms. Doreen, and hope to instill that learning is fun to all of my little friends!

I received a Bachelor of Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin and served as an Editor/Writer for many years before having children. My husband and I have been married for 15 years and have two children, Olivia, 13, and Vincent, 10. I enjoy camping, sports, reading, and shopping. I also like to take our dog, Buddy, for a good walk/run on the many beautiful trails in Austin.
