My name is Niki Melendez and I am delighted to be given the opportunity to be your child's new teacher, here is some insight about me. I have been in the teaching field since 1999 and continue to expand my education with ongoing trainings and classes. My husband and I have 5 daughters, age range in between from a 3 month old to 11 year old. I am currently one semester away from obtaining my Early Childhood Education Associates Degree in Applied Science. I was born and raised in Austin, and plan on raising my family here as well. I look forward to meeting your child's needs and assisting you in anyway possible.

My philosophy is based on providing a creative, nurturing and safe environment for children of all ages. I like to encourage children to stimulate physical, social emotional, language and cognitive growth based upon individual needs.

I believe children learn best when given the opportunity to express themselves through hands on learning experiences. I also believe children learn best when they are praised for the process and not their product. I encourage children to ask for help when needed without hesitation. I strive to build a comfortable learning environment.

I believe it takes patience, time, nurturing and bonding between teacher, child and families to give a complete learning experience. Communication is a vital aspect in order to accomplish this.
